(BGI text) Move and Rotate when set to an angle operates in much
the same way as for directly typing the text onto the page at zero
angle. The text line appears at the specified angle, which is set
in the box 'Angle: '. RETURN spaces the lines evenly, and the
empty textline will follow the cursor wherever you left-click with
the mouse. Right-click to exit. 'ESCAPE' is a quick way to delete
the complete row of text.
Once a font is loaded the BGI function will set text directly into
the picture at the size and angle set in the control box, whenever
you click on the icon BGI in Menu 3.
Note: Once a vector text character has been set into the page it
is no longer a vector graphic, it becomes a bitmap like
everything else.
Measurement
-----------
Style and units are set via the third box from the right on the
Icon bar. Scale is set with '1 Pixel = ?', and the units of
measurement can be changed. To select a unit, click on it; to
enter a new unit click on the little 'i' under the unit-box. When
you have entered a new unit, hit RETURN.
The direction of the caption can be selected, as can its size. The
measurement-lines can be set for horizontal, vertical or variable
angle. 'End-Mark' is for the length of the bar at right angles to
the end of the line, whether or not the line has arrowed ends.
You may also specify where the decimal point is to come in the
measurement.
Polygon/Curve
-------------
The form is pre-set with the ninth box from the left on the Icon-
bar (the four small squares joined with lines).
Select from: straight lines, curves between corners, continuous
curves, or open-ended multi-point curve.
Line-thickness will be that which is set in the 'Lines' control
box (second from the left on the Icon-bar).
To operate this function left-click to place a number of points
(they show as little squares) on the page. If you have too few
points the program will tell you and you can add more. Depress
the left mouse button and hold it down, click the right button,
then release the left button. You now have the squares with a
line showing. This line can be adjusted by moving the squares -
cursor on square, left button down, and pull. When you are
satisfied with the line click and hold down the left mouse-button
(it must not be on a square at the time) and click the right
button. The small squares disappear and the line is now fixed on
the page.
